Wichita Public Schools Choices Fair is January 15
The 2013 Choices Fair is Tuesday, January 15, 5 – 8 p.m. at Century II Exhibition Hall. The Choices Fair allows parents to do “one-stop school shopping” to look at the different educational options the district offers for students. Representatives from 24 magnet schools, the district’s neighborhood schools, alternative middle and high schools, special programs and district support programs will provide information for parents.

New for the 2013 Choices Fair: Parents of students who will be advancing from elementary to middle school and middle to high school are invited to attend informational sessions about what to expect with the grade-level transition. The sessions will be held at 5:15, 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. in the upstairs area, room EX 201 R.

The Wichita Public Schools knows a world-class education doesn’t come in a one-size-fits-all package. The Choices Fair gives parents and students the opportunity to see which school or program best meets their child’s educational needs so their child can excel, whether their choice is a magnet school or their neighborhood school.

School visitations for the magnet schools will be January 28 – February 1, 2013. A visitation schedule can be found at www.magnet.usd259.org.

Parents can apply for magnets online on the Magnet Programs’ Web site. The application deadline for all magnet schools is Tuesday, February 15, 2013 at 4:45 p.m. Applications must be received in the Magnet Admissions Office.

More information about magnet schools can be found at www.magnet.usd259.org.
